I've known Tali both personally and professionally for almost 2 years.I call him a friend.He has made several pipes, pipestems,knives,black chlorite (stone) bear claws (which look as close to the real thing as you're ever going to get) and warclubs for me.His Mother, bless her soul ,has even made a fine beaded pipebag for me. All these items are of the highest quality and are made with a great deal of attention paid to the details.

To personal pipe users and to vendors as well: There are pipemakers, there are master carvers, and then there is this guy. As one who has both commissioned him to craft our family pipe and also as one who has gone to him for advice, I can honestly say that Tali stands in a class by himself. I have been a friend of Tali's for nearly 30 years. I found him on this life journey path I walk when I was looking for my forever pipe which I still carry and use.
I can honestly say that there is not a dishonest bone in this man's body nor would he ever fail to help a friend, comfort the sorrowful or send a powerful prayer toward the Creator for the right reason.
No one alive today walks Tali's path and in his own right is the last of the true traditional pipemakers. If you don't believe that, look around, you will not find another like him carving today. They have all passed over.
Many people have thought they could control, teach or influence this guy, Tali takes it all in stride, walks away and carries on his path. He knows the way, he knows a lot more than he lets show! He has taught me how to tan hides, make my own clothes, peyote stitch, make pottery, bows, arrows, blowguns, there is honestly nothing he does not know how to do and it is frankly "spooky". Something hiding behind his black eyes?
No one would realize the wisdom my friend has. I look foreward to his book. Then we may know some of what he knows?
His will is that of 10 men, After all, who today could have built their own log house out of huge heavy logs, all alone. Lifted rocks that would have broken five men's backs ...alone.... so he could say he did this himself. He made his own car from junk that most people would have thrown away. It is probably worth a fortune. He can run the engine on water, this I saw with my own eyes. Tali is an average size man, but he has a big heart and a bigger spirit.
You will never go wrong calling this man your friend and most surely will treasure on of his creations.
